So I finally finished L&O:UK Season 4. *sadface* I’m not sure whether I want to continue ESPECIALLY when I don’t think I can find “season 6” (well, the eps after “Deal” anyway) and just really don’t want to be left on a cliffhanger. OK, so I *know* what will happen anyway, but still….
Now I can go back and read all the James/Alesha fanfics to fill that mega-hole left by “Skeletons”. At least in fanfic world they can be happily ever after. :)
I was just complaining a couple of days ago how Channel 10 Australia is just ridiculous because they *STILL* haven’t finished showing the final season of Law & Order. Seriously people, it has been 1.5 years already. If you can show “GLEE” 2 weeks after the US, a year and a half is just….
So starting from October 6 they will show 20x15 “Brilliant Disguise” - so 9 more episodes to go. Will it last this time? Or will they take it off the schedule after like 2 weeks (which has already happened twice?)
I know I’ve already watched them all, but still. I wouldn’t mind seeing Mike Cutter / Jack McCoy / Connie Rubirosa on my TV. ;)
He was one of the rare L&O characters who got a personal subplot. It was implied in the original series that Cutter had romantic feelings for Connie Rubirosa. The show never got to explore those, but what do you think happened with Mike and Connie?
That’s a great question. It was always interesting to see how people assumed there was something between Mike and Connie. My sense is that they did have strong feelings for each other but that that they both felt that it was never going to really work. Or would it have? I think they both felt both of those things and never knew how to handle it. That’s what kept it alive.
He was definitely embraced by the fans. Is there a chance that we might see you in future episodes of SVU?
As far as I know, I’m doing four episodes. It feels like things are being mixed up in a very creative way and there’s some interesting cross-pollination going on. So I wouldn’t be surprised if we also see a lot of other characters from the past appearing through this season and making the most of all the much loved characters from the Law & Order franchise.
Have you seen the British version, Law & Order: UK? Would you consider appearing on it?
I love the UK version of the show. It’s brilliant and the actors are fantastic. And yes, I’d love to appear on it. The question is …what as?
I finally spent some time reading up on tutorials about making GIFs using Photoshop…and here’s the result :D :D
From L&O:UK 02x05: Love and Loss
James: Ethan’s down this weekend. He wants to go skating. I’ve no idea where to take him. Alesha: I used to go to the Sobell Centre, near Holloway. James: You can skate? Alesha: Oh yeah. James: What are you doing Saturday afternoon? Alesha: Watching you fall flat on your arse.
My favourite episode so far. Everything about it was GLORIOUS.
In terms of how Mike Cutter fits into SVU the way I always approach the character was – he’s not worried about being liked, he’s not there for a big fan club, he basically… he’ll go against whatever’s out there to get what he needs or what he feels is true justice. I think, being part of Special Victims is something that Mike Cutter would be very passionate about, so it’s a suitable place for him. I don’t think he’s asking for the rest of the team to admire him and like him and he has to be able to hold some very tough ground with people.
HAHAHAHAHA and yet Mike Cutter has acquired quite a few fans during his 3 year run on the Mothership…..well, enough for a comeback! :D Plus, he doesn’t need ‘the team’ to like him, he has CONNIE. OH MY SHIPPER HEART.
I think it’s going to be fun that I come in and kick people’s asses every now and again. That’s gonna be part of my function, to bring a bit of authority into the arena and I think it’s going to be an interesting thing just to see how this man deals with the new level of power within a very volatile department and bureau.
OH OH OH OH It means it’s a recurring role right?!?!?! *happy dance* Some Cutter goodness is better than nothing.
(I kinda laughed when he said “new level of power” - had this image of evil!Cutter from “Skate or Die” when he pretended to be a Russian spy……)
I don’t know how I feel about Mike being the new Jack….. I just wish they can have BOTH of them back!!! ><
oh…. by maturer and more responsible, DOES IT MEAN MIKE AND CONNIE ARE MARRIED NOW & living happily with their PRETTY BABY!!???!!??
Mike Cutter has evolved from his previous role as Executive ADA - Chief Prosecution for Homicide and now he’s being promoted to Bureau Chief. So he’s now in a very interesting position because he has always been this Don Quixote go-getter for justice, going against the rules and basically going on his own steam. And now he’s actually responsible for multiple cases at once and responsible for multiple ADAs.
So it’s kind of interesting for me to take this character now into a position of leadership and responsibility where he’s up against the politics of the bureaucracy within the legal system. And I think he’s having to cope with some very complex situations where he might be the one that wants to go ahead and do something against the rules but he’s now the one that’s accountable to it.
So in a way it’s a little bit for me like stepping into Sam Waterston’s shoes – these kind of battles that I would have with him I’m starting to have those intimations of those battles being on the other side of them with Stephanie March, who’s coming to me saying “We need to prosecute!” And I’m saying “Hey hey, hold on hold on. Let’s just look at the whole picture here.” So it’s a kind of a maturer, more responsible man who has to deal with a lot more.
